SS Fawkes Primary Crew (SS Fawkes Characters)
The Primary Crew of the SS Fawkes.
Captain First Officer The liaison between captain and crew, the First Officer acts as the disciplinarian and right-hand man to the Captain. The First Officer may have other positional duties besides just being the First Officer. Lead Pilot The Lead Pilot is the primary pilot for the SS Fawkes, handling the helm control station. S/he is responsible for maneuvers between systems, and bases and handles the landings, take-offs, docking, etc. While several of the crew are mandated to have flight experience, the Lead Pilot is the primary and is often the one to do the teaching. Navigator The Navigator is responsible for plotting courses and essentially finding the shortest trip between Point A and Point B. Communications Officer The Communications Officer is responsible for all communication systems on the ship. Working with the Navigator, the Communication Officer is responsible for coordinating landing and lift off clearance, whether it be planet-side or from a Starbase. Chief Engineer The Chief Engineer is responsible for the condition of all systems and equipment on board the ship. S/he oversees maintenance, repairs and upgrades of all equipment. Mechanic The Mechanic(s) assist the Chief Engineer in the maintenance of the ship and the daily repairs that may be needed. Medic S/he is responsible for providing first aid and trauma care to the crew in times of need. They are tasked with maintaining the Infirmary and being available for general crew well-being. Cook Everyone needs to eat, especially the hard working crew of a freighter hauling cargo across the cosmos. The cook is responsible for stocking food supplies and preparing meals throughout the day, and feeding the starving masses. Load Master The Load Master is responsible for the proper placement and allotment of cargo. Their primary focus is the review of manifests, maintaining said manifests, and instructing other crew members involved in loading / offloading. Accountant Accountants maintain the books for the business and ensure that everything stays in the black. The job can be quite menacing, as s/he has to consistently hunt receipts down for purchases made with company funds. The accountant is also responsible for handing out pay vouchers at the completion of every voyage, which is proof that payment has been made to each crew member's accounts.
